What our service is
We provide an online tool that helps you write your own will in line with Islamic principles of inheritance. The tool guides you through a set of questions, applies a deterministic Shariah-compliant calculation to work out fixed shares, and produces a will document for you to print, sign and have witnessed.
Will-writing in England and Wales is not a regulated activity. We do not hold ourselves out as a firm of solicitors and the self-serve service is not legal advice. We do not claim that your will is reviewed by a solicitor. You are responsible for the choices you make and for checking that your will reflects your wishes.
Will-writing and regulated services
Some matters go beyond writing a will and are regulated. Where your needs extend into the following areas, the work is carried out by a qualified solicitor, not by the self-serve tool.
- Lasting powers of attorney
- Probate and the administration of an estate
- Setting up and administering trusts
- Inheritance-tax planning
If you ask for any of these, we will tell you before any regulated work starts, including who will carry it out and what it will cost. Those services are provided on separate terms by the qualified solicitor handling your matter.
For Irfan: this section deliberately makes no claim of SRA regulation and no claim that wills are “reviewed by a solicitor”, and names no firm. It states that regulated work is delivered by “a qualified solicitor”. Confirm this matches the arrangement you have in place, and that there is a real qualified solicitor available for the regulated upsells before this page goes live.
Our pricing
Our will-writing service is offered on two tiers.
| Tier | Price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Self-serve | £19.99 | You complete your will online using the guided tool, then download it to print, sign and witness yourself. |
| Assisted | £49.99 | The same online tool plus guided support to help you complete your will. |
Prices are in pounds sterling and include any applicable tax. More complex matters, and any regulated work delivered by a qualified solicitor, are quoted separately before the work begins.
Payment
Payment is taken securely through our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. Your right to use the completed service begins once your payment is confirmed.
Your right to cancel
Because you are a consumer buying a digital service online, you normally have 14 days to change your mind and receive a refund, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
If you ask us to begin providing the service straight away, before the 14 days are up, you agree that:
- we may start the service immediately; and
- once the service has been fully performed - that is, once you have generated or downloaded your will document - you lose the 14-day right to cancel for a refund.
If you have paid but have not yet generated or downloaded your will, you can cancel within 14 days for a full refund by emailing info@islamicwills.pro. Where a refund is due, we will make it within 14 days using the same payment method you used.
For our assisted service, where a qualified solicitor or specialist has already begun work on your matter, any refund is assessed in light of the work carried out up to the point you cancel.
Your responsibilities
The will we help you produce is your document. For it to be legally valid in England and Wales you must:
- be aged 18 or over and of sound mind;
- read the will carefully and make sure it reflects your wishes;
- sign it in the presence of two independent witnesses who are not beneficiaries and who are aged 18 or over; and
- have those two witnesses sign it in your presence.
We are not responsible for a will being invalid because it was not signed or witnessed correctly, or because the information you gave us was wrong or incomplete. If your circumstances are unusual or complex, you should take advice from a qualified solicitor.
Limitation of liability
We provide the self-serve service with reasonable care and skill, but we do not give legal advice on that tier and we are not liable for the legal outcome of a will you have chosen to write. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the service.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
