Compassionate help when it matters most

Probate is the legal process of settling someone's estate after they pass away. Debts are paid, assets are gathered, and the inheritance is distributed. For Muslim families, both the law and the Islamic shares have to be honoured.

The Faraid shares matter

The Quran sets out the shares clearly, and honouring them is not optional. The Faraid calculation is specific and unforgiving. Getting it wrong leads to disputes and to rights being missed, sometimes without anyone realising. This is not the kind of detail an executor should be left to work out alone.

What we help with

  • Managing the grant of probate or letters of administration
  • Identifying the heirs according to Shariah rulings
  • Distributing assets according to the correct shares
  • Settling debts, funeral costs and any tax due
  • Mediating disputes and guiding the executor

Speak to us in confidence

Bereavement is hard enough. We handle the process carefully so the family can grieve, and so the rights laid down in the Quran are honoured.

This is a regulated area, so the work is carried out by a qualified solicitor. We will tell you who is handling your matter and what it will cost before any regulated work begins. See all services.
